Working closely with underwriting and operational teams, our finance function provides the insight, controls, and strategic support needed to drive sustainable performance.
Our established and sizeable finance team brings considerable experience from across the Lloyd’s market, including a number of managing agencies, as well as the wider global general and specialty insurance industry. Since 2021, they have successfully managed the financial operations of Syndicates 4242 and 1416.
The function plays a key oversight role for both Statera and its managed syndicates across:
- The allocation, maintenance and management of capital, funding and liquidity;
- Treasury management;
- The production and integrity of financial information and regulatory reporting;
- The integrity of financial reporting systems, processes and controls; and
- The firm’s recovery and resolution plan, including governance of underlying internal processes.
The team offers a broad range of capabilities, including:
- Reporting and control –delivering top quartile regulatory reporting and management information to support effective decision-making, safeguard syndicate assets and ensure equitable distribution of profits among names.
- Investment and liquidity management – working alongside our third party investment manager, NEAM, to pursue an investment approach that supports the syndicates’ underwriting strategy and claims-paying obligations, with a focus on capital preservation, liquidity and prudent liability alignment.
- Financial planning and analysis – partnering with the business to drive the execution of business plans and the delivery of profitable, cost-efficient underwriting.
- Finance change – continuously improving the financial systems and processes which support the managed syndicates, ensuring they remain scalable and effective in supporting decision-making, reporting and control.
